Notice what that framing does and does not say: it promises authentic-sounding prose, and it never claims to get your text past Turnitin, GPTZero, or any named detector.
The word “humanizer” is doing a lot of work here, so it helps to separate two mechanisms that get lumped together. A paraphraser is a fluency tool: it substitutes synonyms and reshuffles clauses so a sentence reads more smoothly, while leaving the underlying shape of the text mostly intact. The disclosed Turnitin test above (EV-quillbot-02) was first published in February 2025 and refreshed in May 2026, and its refreshed figures still show QuillBot’s modes landing well inside Turnitin’s flag range. Two fairness points belong next to that, both from Turnitin itself. A lot of people comparison-shopping QuillBot end up asking whether Scribbr is a separate second opinion or the same thing wearing a different name. Here the fact is settled and clean. Learneo, the parent company formerly known as Course Hero, states in its own December 2022 announcement that its operating businesses include, in its words, “CliffsNotes, Course Hero, LitCharts, QuillBot, Scribbr, and Symbolab” (learneo.com, December 14, 2022, EV-scribbr-07). Why ownership does not automatically mean a shared detection engine
