Cookies and your consent
MeteGPT sets only essential cookies by default, the ones strictly necessary to make the Service work (quota tracking, login sessions, anti-bot protection, payment checkout). Under GDPR / ePrivacy, essential cookies do not require explicit consent.
For traffic analytics we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, so it is strictly optional. It loads only if you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you decline, Google Analytics is never loaded and no analytics identifiers are set. Essential transaction events such as checkout creation, payment confirmation and duplicate prevention still run when needed to provide the service. To change your choice later, clear the cookie_consent cookie in your browser and reload the page.
Cookies we set
analytics_visitor_id / analytics_session (browser storage)
- Purpose:
- Links consented visits and purchase attempts on MeteGPT so one journey is counted once. Created only after analytics consent.
- Contents:
- Random UUIDs, first landing path and last activity time. No name, email, card data or full IP.
- Duration:
- Visitor ID remains until browser storage is cleared; session ID expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Essential:
- No (opt-in)
humanize_quota
- Purpose:
- Tracks your 4-free-runs-per-day quota for the humanizer (and the same for the detector) without requiring a signup.
- Contents:
- An HMAC-signed token containing your run count and the UTC day. No personal data.
- Duration:
- Expires at midnight UTC. Reset daily.
- Essential:
- Yes (required for the Service to function)
next-auth.session-token
- Purpose:
- Keeps you signed in if you have an account. Set only after login; never set for anonymous visitors.
- Contents:
- A signed JWT issued by NextAuth v5. Contains your user ID and expiry, not your password.
- Duration:
- 30 days from issue, refreshed on each visit.
- Essential:
- Yes (required for the Service to function)
__cf_bm / cf_clearance
- Purpose:
- Cloudflare bot-management and challenge-passage. Set by Cloudflare's edge, not by MeteGPT directly.
- Contents:
- Encrypted Cloudflare-internal tokens identifying your browser session as not-a-bot.
- Duration:
- 30 minutes (__cf_bm), 30 days (cf_clearance).
- Essential:
- Yes (required for the Service to function)
Stripe checkout cookies
- Purpose:
- Set only on Stripe-hosted payment pages when you start or manage a paid subscription. Used for secure payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Contents:
- Stripe session, security, and fraud-prevention data. These cookies are controlled by Stripe on its payment pages.
- Duration:
- Per Stripe's cookie and privacy policies.
- Essential:
- Yes (required for the Service to function)
_ga / _gid (Google Analytics)
- Purpose:
- Measures site traffic and how visitors find us. Set ONLY if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner; if you decline, these are never set.
- Contents:
- A randomly-generated client identifier: no name, email, or account data. Used to count unique visitors and sessions.
- Duration:
- _ga: 2 years · _gid: 24 hours.
- Essential:
- No (opt-in)
Disabling cookies
You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the Service will not work correctly:
- Blocking
humanize_quotawill cause every run to be counted against an IP-only limit (50 per day) instead of the 4-per-day cookie quota, same end result for most users. - Blocking the NextAuth session cookie will prevent you from signing in.
- Blocking Cloudflare cookies may trigger repeated challenge pages.
